About Us

Welcome to Herne Bay Community Singers. As a Community Choir our focus is on fostering a friendly welcoming environment where people of all ages and singing abilities can come together, make friends and enjoy singing.

You don’t have to be a professional singer to join, or have the voice of an angel, you just need to enjoy singing for singings sake. Edward as our talented Musical Director arranges songs and harmonies and leads the rehearsals to make sure we sound great and are performance ready.

Members are provided with folders, all music sheets, pens and highlighters once they have joined the choir. Our unform is any black clothing with a blue scarf/tie, (red at Christmas), scarves and ties are provided by the choir.

Rehearsals run from 7:15 to 9:15 on Wednesday evenings (with a refreshment break), at Hampton Primary School.

Singers are grouped into types by Sopranos (higher voices, usually females) Baritones (usually male voices) and Alto’s (lower female voices). All parts take a turn at harmonies, depending on the song.

Fees are either paid on attendance at £5 per session, or termly (10% discount for fees paid termly), and there are usually three to four terms a year depending on how Easter falls.

If you are interested in joining us, please complete your details in the form below, a member of the team will then be in touch to discuss you coming along for a free taster session at one of our rehearsals.
